Best Buy Flyer Kobo Glo HD Review 2017

With a weight of 180 grams and dimensions of 157 x 115 x 9.2 mm, the Kobo Glo HD does not have a bag to fit. You can easily carry it anywhere. Thanks to the serrated silicone back surface and lightness it is possible to hold it in one hand, even when standing on the subway. There’s only one Micro USB port for charging and transferring data from your computer. Even with 4 GB of storage, the available space is 3.2 GB. You do not have the chance to expand it with an SD card, but because ebooks take up a lot of space, hundreds of ebooks fit in this space. The ComfortLight backlight is designed to look, unlike any tablet. However, unlike some e-book readers, there is no light sensor, so the lighting level does not change automatically. You can change the brightness or turn it off completely by dragging your finger on the left edge of the screen. The Kobo Glo HD’s main screen is very successful. The last book you read is what percentage you read, your library, plus new ones and bestsellers. Although the screen is grayscale, the book covers look understandable. It is possible to read EPUB, MOBI, TXT, HTML, RTF files which will be transferred from your computer as well as purchased books. Adobe DRM is also supported.

A very nice feature is Pocket integration. There are people who know: Pocket is a browser plug-in. It extracts the webpage with one click and sends long texts legibly to the desired device. So you can read your e-book reader whenever you want to write on the computer screen. With 1 GHz processor, page transitions are very fast. You need to touch the right or left the side of the screen to translate the page, or the middle to see the options. At 6 pages an E Ink display is completely refreshed. The customization options of Kobo Glo HD are very successful. Font, font size, line spacing, margins, and alignment can be changed. There are 11 different fonts. Kobo claims that Glo HD’s battery lasts for up to two months, but we have not had a chance to test it yet. Of course, the first thing that affects battery life is Wi-Fi, and the second one is light. If you keep Wi-Fi off if you do not need it, we think you can pass a month. “What does Wi-Fi work with except for buying books?” we will show you the “synchronous” feature. Once you have bought the book, you have the chance to continue reading from the computer, phone and tablet (with the Kobo application) and where you left off. Of course, Wi-Fi is also required for Pocket integration. If you do not use these features often, you can turn off Wi-Fi.
